All Saints Day
Yesterday it was a public holiday to celebrate All Saints day - 清明节. While back in Malaysia & Singapore, it was Deepavali festival which I do not see any sign of celebration here.
On this day, people will visit their deceased at the grave, which is similar to our chinese's custom i.e. 扫墓. While the locals went to church & grave, I went to the park again (as every shop is closed!); this time carrying the novel entitled "The Black Englishman", which I have not been reading for the past week.
On this special day, it brings me back to recall my maternal grandparents who had left us a few years back. I am blessed that I was able to be by their side until they exhaled their last breath.
